In recognition of outstanding service, several awards were given at the headquarters dedication ceremonies held on June 8th, 2003.  The following photos are shown in the order in which the awards were made.

Above, Randy Berry, club president, presents an appreciation award to Joe and Margaret Bonnette (absent) for providing the property on which the club could construct the headquarters building at Whisper Field.  They have also allowed us to connect to their power source.

Karl Fields receives an appreciation award for his outstanding contributions. Karl donated over $1,800 in funds and items for the building ... plus his time, efforts and support!  Karl's generous donation put us "over the top" and made it possible to make the building of conventional wooden construction, as many desired. Thanks, Karl!

Gloria and Don Forsberg (a director) are also shown in the background at far right.

Above, Clint Walker receives an appreciation award for outstanding service in construction of the headquarters building. Clint is "THE MAN"! He designed and built the major portion of the building himself ... with help from friend James Fisher and daughter Lynn Walker Hudson, as well as other club members.  He continues to make enhancements and to provide technical guidance for the remainder of the construction.  Clint was not only very generous with his own time, money, and technical expertise, he even used his own crew and equipment ... and has done most of it in less than a month!  We owe Clint a tremendous debt of gratitude! Thanks, Clint! We truly couldn't have done it without you!

Jim Summers (right) is shown above presenting an "excellence in leadership" award to Randy Berry for "piloting the club through the arduous task of clubhouse construction"   Wow ... what a wonderful surprise!

Jim has contributed significantly towards this project as well ... over $525 in donations and equipment .... and assisted personally in nearly every phase of building construction ... roofing, laying water pipe, acquiring/installing cabinets, sink, drain, fans, etc.  He also located the materials from which we constructed our club picnic tables!

Leon Strock (right) is shown above, presenting an appreciation award to Randy for "outstanding leadership" in guiding the club through the decision process.  Randy was very much overwhelmed and most appreciative of both awards.

Leon contributed $350 towards this project ... and donated these very nice, professionally done, plaques to the club for these awards.  He is responsible for the logo design (shown on the plaque above), which we have adopted as our official club insignia.  He is also designing and providing a club sign for the front of the building ... and a plaque to be placed inside the building to contain the names of all contributors towards this project.

Finally, our sincere thanks to every one of youYou gave generously of your money, efforts, and time for the headquarters building project. Almost everyone donated funds ... in the hundreds of dollars in most cases! A number of you participated directly in the construction ... Clint, Jim, Karl, Troy, Mark, Leon, Bruce, Ron, Randy, and others.  Several of you donated/loaned personal items to put into the building ... Karl, Jim, Joe, Randy.  Every one of you deserves an award ... for an outstanding job well done!

Isn't it amazing what we have done ... together?!
