We are happy to welcome Larry Maner back as a
club member in 2005. Larry is a long time light plane flyer and enthusiast. Since these photos were taken, Larry has
sold the plane shown in these photos. However, since this is the
only photo we currently have of Larry, we'll leave it on here for awhile longer.
Larry is shown above having just dropped in for a late afternoon
visit with his beautiful Challenger single-place aircraft.
He kept this bird polished to a high gloss ... as you can see!
Here's one of Larry over open country on a jaunt to several
local airports. We buzzed the field at Lexington County (Gaston), and then
flew within a few miles of Swansea on the way to Tom Poole's grass strip. We had a great time!
Above, Larry has just landed at Tom Poole's nice country
strip. It's narrow, uphill and a bit challenging ... but loads of fun! The approach
is
over a nice country lake ... on which several men were fishing in a boat on this
particular day. This is just the
kind of thing we
enjoy about flying light sport aircraft ... landing on this type of green grass strip on a
beautiful fall-like day out in the country. It's hard to beat!
Here's Larry's NEW plane! It's a
clipped wing Challenger. These photos were taken on January 26, 2005 ... as it
was being flown to its new home at Trenton by Mike Herlihy.
Here's Mike after having just arrived from
Bishopville, SC. He began his journey in Dillon, SC earlier in the day. Although
you can't tell it, it was a quite windy day ... with gusts in the 20-25 mph
range. Mike had a headwind the whole way back to Trenton.
We hope to be getting more photos of Larry
with his plane in the future.
And finally, a rear view of the plane. Note the
"N" number.
