Bruce Harrison is our club Secretary. He completed this
beautiful Kolb Firestar I in October, 2004.

Above is another photo of Bruce and the
Kolb from afar.
Here's one of Bruce "crow hopping" up and down
the runway. Wow! That tail is really high, Bruce!

Above, Bruce gets in some quality
late evening flying time ... the wind has subsided and the sunset is
spectacular. This photo was actually taken in late July, before the
windshield and front pod were installed.

Bruce takes it around "the patch" above.

Here's one of his wings prior to covering. He did it the hard
way too ... with parts and pieces from various sources. This is his fourth (or
fifth?) Firestar, so he is getting quite good at it.
Incidentally, Bruce is making quite a name for himself
in fabric
covering. In addition to having covered several planes of his own over the
years, he is shown above with a recently covered RANS S-10 wing for a
friend. It entailed rib stitching and the works!
Above, he is shown with the other S-10 wing ... which has already
been silver coated for UV protection. Next comes the white outer coatings. He
says he enjoys this type of work. If you don't like doing your own covering, see Bruce
... he just may be willing to negotiate!
Bruce has also been very active in
leading forums and discussions for club member
education. He is shown above giving a forum on "paint stripping"
at our January, 2004 club meeting. Thanks, Bruce .. for your commitment and
sharing your knowledge!
