Bob McConkey (aka "snake56") couldn't stand it any longer! He just had to get into flying again ... so he bought this recently renovated Challenger single place. Bob has a commercial rating and flew helicopters as a Captain in the Army during the Vietnam era. Some of his tales about flying Cobras and Hueys in Vietnam are very interesting and "eyebrow raising". Even with all of that flying experience, he made the wise decision to get some flight instruction from a qualified BFI before flying again ... since this is his first venture into light aircraft. Here's a frontal view of Bob and plane ... just outside his hangar. Takeoff on runway 35. On approach to runway 35 after a trip around the pattern. Finally, Bob is shown taxiing the plane in
after a successful flight. After initial orientation with BFI, Joe Bonnette,
Bob is now flying the plane. His first solo flight occurred on August 7th ...
followed by a trip to Trenton with other club members. It was quite an
interesting experience |
